back for a bit

"cinderella high"

i'm not sure how long this is going to be. i hope it is long, i have a lot to say... but i am leaving to go see joshua in less than an hour, so i have to make this snappy. (that was so boring, i am sorry i subjected you to that...)

"the prince is having a ball!" (repeat over and over and that is what is playing in my brain right now.)

i love pit orchestra. i love playing shows. i really do. wow. we had our first rehearsal with the drama group today. and i absolutely loved it.

yeah i was sitting in the pit (so i couldn't see anything) and yeah i am sick, but...

i don't think i can describe the rush you get when you're playing for a show. my old band teacher's wife is first flute (i'm second) and she asked me if i had ever played in a show before and when i said "no" she told me that it is a lot of fun (and that i should stop worrying because you're not supposed to think about what you're playing, you're just supposed to play).

it's more than a lot of fun.

i got such a rush just from playing. it's so satisfying. it beats band. it beats being a soloist (which i absolutely enjoy). it beats being piccolo leader, it beats being flute leader. it's the best natural high of them all.

i can't wait until tuesday! we have another rehearsal. another three hours of singing and flute and cinderella.

and i am going to see joshua soon. i am going to be so high, i am not going to come down for a long time.

(this is what broadway music and joshua do to me.)

i just want to give everyone a great big hug! *hugs everyone*

(wow i have to stop. before i hurt myself or someone else.)

but to finish my thoughts on my high school's fall performance. it is wonderful, it is amazing. i couldn't see most of the acting 'cuz i am beneath them all, but i heard the singing and i had a part in making the music, and those things were wonderful. i like the set. the scenery was so pretty. you can tell that they spent a lot of time on everything...

now if only the stage crew hurried up and moved things! (stage crew = mostly little freshmen who don't know what they are doing!)

and the director wants me back for the next show! *score*

i love joshua.
